Trip Details:

We documented as 8 families, 8 OPUS Campers, 27 people, 3 Dogs, and a 5 person film crew spent 4 days exploring the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route #4.

This is their story… They started at IdleWild CG and traveled through backcountry woods and mountain terrain all the way to Seneca. Prior to this trip, they had only met virtually through the online OPUS Owner’s Community.

Each group began their adventure in a different state along the west coast, all eight campers eventually met up near Burns, Oregon.

While one group left from California making their first stop near McCloud Falls, another group explored the southeast corner of Oregon on their way to IdleWild Campground where the entire crew would meet.

This trip was an official Opus Adventure Run, which is planned by owners and documented by Opus Camper. Each Adventure Run is documented by our partners at Blk Elk Media – So the group also met the media team that would be traveling alongside them to capture the trip.

The first night, the group stayed at IdleWild Campground along Highway 395 north of Burns, Oregon.

The campsite is located in the Malheur National Forest, which encompasses 1.46 million acres in the Blue Mountains of eastern Oregon. The campground requires reservations and is surrounded by Ponderosa pines.

They climbed the Wolf Mountain Fire Lookout, took on switchbacks and narrow trails, and traveled part of the 750-mile route through the Oregon Back Country Discovery Route #4. The OBDR can take you all the way to Walla Walla .. and it’s about 95% off-road.
