Trip Details:

Sondra and Steven explored Black Hills National Forest in South Dakota with their OP15 and pet cat, Sheba.

The Black Hills are actually located in western South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming, consists of 1.2 million acres of forested hills and mountains – A fantastic place to explore if your near Rapid City. 

“While the OP15 was parked at the campsite we explored some of Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park, drove Needles, Highway, went to Custer, Hill City, and Keystone, and drove forest roads in Black Hills NF.”

Sondra and Steven said there are so many scenic drives in the Black Hills area and even a handful of National Parks / Monuments, it was a great area to explore.

"This was our first time in the area and we did scout some sites before we went into the forest. Some roads were easy to fit down and navigate, others did get steep and rocky."
